Vin Scully will return to the Dodgers broadcast booth in 2016, which will be his 67th season calling games for the team. Los Angeles announced the news Friday night with a video featuring Magic Johnson and Jimmy Kimmel.

As per usual, Scully downplayed it all. After the promo video it was business as usual, “… and we go to the bottom of the second inning here at Dodger Stadium. Our thanks to Dodger management for breaking the news, if you want to call it news, that God willing, we’ll all be back here next year. God willing.”

Scully turns 88 in November. As the Los Angeles Times notes he no longer travels to away games outside of California.

Just take a second and think about it … 67 years doing the same job — a job where you’re out there in front of the public every day, no less. It’s staggering. Consider this, Scully was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1982.

Scully is a baseball treasure, plain and simple.
