Al Michaels was a guest on The Herd on Wednesday. Colin Cowherd asked about Howard Cosell. Michaels and Cosell worked together on ABC baseball telecasts toward the beginning and end of their respective careers, and over the years Michaels has shared some warming anecdotes as well as some horror stories.

“No matter what Howard was, he wanted to be something more,” said Michaels. “They talked about him running for the Senate one day — not that he would have — but if he was a senator he’d want to be president. If he was president he’d want to be kind. If he was kind he’d want to be God.”
