A new book that is coming out soon, titled “Breaking Cardinal Rules: Basketball and the Escort Queen,” makes some accusations that a member of the Louisville basketball program paid escorts to dance and have sex with recruits and players. Yahoo Sports has an advanced copy of the allegations in the book.

Katina Powell, the self-described madam who is authoring the book, alleges that as much as $10,000 was changing hands at the peak of the arrangement, and that doesn’t include any tips or further money paid for sex. According to the book, Andre McGee, a former staffer who worked with the University of Missouri-Kansas City last year, was the point person for the arrangements, which involved Powell and her girls coming to the basketball dormitory and entering through a side entrance. It also contains the claim that Powell’s daughters were among the women who worked for her. Egads.

Yahoo reports that the publisher claims to have hundreds of text between Powell and McGee, as well as photos with the players and recruits. The University of Louisville is investigating. There are, for now, no specific allegations that head coach Rick Pitino was aware of this.
