Bernard Pierce is in Concussion Protocol, After Blocking Opponent While on Punt Coverage Team

Bernard Pierce was on the Jaguars punt coverage team when he suddenly turned to block the Tampa Bay player trailing him. Bobby Rainey then took advantage of that to get a 58-yard return right through the hole that Pierce was going to fill. Yesterday, head coach Gus Bradley was asked about the play (via Big Cat Country):

“It is. It’s not a good play at all. When I saw it I couldn’t believe it, but I know he’s in the concussion protocol. I know after the game he had concussion symptoms. That’s where I’ll leave it at that, the play itself if you watched it.”
