Thomas Johnson, a former wide receiver who left Texas A&M in 2012 under strange circumstances, allegedly killed a random jogger in Dallas on Monday morning. Johnson allegedly hacked a random stranger to death using a “large-edged weapon.” He then walked to a nearby equestrian center and called the police.

If Johnson had stayed at Texas A&M, he would be a senior, preparing to face Alabama this weekend. Johnson, one of the top receiving prospects in his class, caught three passes for 22 yards in Texas A&M’s Manziel-led upset of #1-ranked Alabama on November 10, 2012. A few days later, Johnson left the Texas A&M campus and no one could find him.

Johnson was found three days later near his old high school. He left Texas A&M for good the next month. In a San Antonio News Express story published in April 2014, Johnson’s mother said he was “doing good” and hoped to return to play college football somewhere.
