Doc Rivers Going Full Heel Since Everyone Hates the Clippers

Doc Rivers coaches the most loathed team in the NBA, the LA Clippers, and it seems the whining, crying, annoying nature of his players is rubbing off on him. Rivers had a tumultuous summer, first losing his shot-blocking center, then essentially kidnapping him to get him back, all of which was a horrible look for the coach. He’s feuding with Mark Cuban, owner of the Mavericks.

And now Rivers is taking shots at … the Warriors? Saying the defending NBA champs were lucky? That’s unbecoming, Doc. It’s beneath you. Via Inside Bay Area:

"“I’m really surprised how sensitive they are about it,” Rivers told reporters Monday. “They are the champions, so they can just be the champions.” Asked about Rivers’ latest comments, Warriors guard Klay Thompson said: “I don’t want to talk about Doc. I’m sick of talking about that dude. Sorry, man.”"

Drop it, Doc. You’re wrong here.

The Clippers – who choked away a 3-1 lead in the playoffs against Houston – play the Warriors tonight, and I’m excited for all the subplots to explode on the floor. As long as Stephen Curry doesn’t get hurt.
