The Bears have, arguably, been the nation’s best team thus far. However, this injury could prove critical with their backloaded schedule. Baylor closes at Kansas State, Oklahoma, at Oklahoma State, at TCU, Texas. That may be the nation’s toughest slate over the back stretch.
Russell’s backup Jarrett Stidham is a well regarded recruit, who has played well when called upon this year. But, he is a true freshman.
