Steve Williams ripped Tiger Woods in his new book – you can read about that here – but now that the book has been released more player ripping has been revealed. Turns out, angry Steve Williams doesn’t like a lot of golfers.
These quotes are provided via GolfWRX.
Williams on Sergio Garcia:
Williams thoroughly dislikes Sergio Garcia, primarily because of his conduct at the 2012 Players Championship when Sergio was “loud, abusive, bad-tempered” and “threw his clubs.”
Williams on Vijay Singh:
He also dislikes Vijay Singh on account of the fact that the latter has never fessed up to his 1985 cheating incident.
Williams on Phil Mickelson:
Williams problem with Phil Mickelson: “He thinks he knows everything. He lords over people.”
Williams on Kevin Na:
Williams once let Kevin Na have it over slow play saying “You’re the most inconsiderate player I’ve ever met in my life.”
So, there you have it, Williams has problems with a lot of good and likable guys. If you’d like to read more about who angry Steve Williams dislikes, buy his book, but remember, during his career in which he earned millions of dollars (over $8 million) carrying Tiger Woods’ golf bag, he “felt like a slave.”
When I wrote about Michael Grellar’s earnings for the 2014-2015 season carrying Jordan Spieth’s bag, I also used the 5-7-10 rule to calculate Steve William’s earnings but didn’t publish them. These numbers don’t reflect the actual amount earned by Williams because each player/caddie agreement is different and there may have been a tournament where Williams wasn’t on Woods’ bag.
