Alex Ovechkin Had His Cup Checked by Marc Staal

Alexander Ovechkin was hit in the groin by Marc Staal during Tuesday’s Rangers – Capitals game. The officials completely missed it which added insult no penalty call for spearing to injury. As upset as Ovechkin was with the no-call, Staal didn’t seem very apologetic. Via the New York Post:

"“I was standing there, holding my ice, and he kind of skated into my stick,” Staal said. “I’m entitled to my ice as much as he is, so I just stood there.”"

He is entitled to his ice. Ovechkin scored a few minutes later to get his own form of revenge, but the Rangers won the game, 5-2.
