Matthew Hasselbeck Randomly Drug Tested For Third Time in 16 Months

Matthew Hasselbeck gets drug tested a lot. The 4-0 Colts quarterback tweeted this morning that he was randomly drug tested. He was also tested in August, a month before he turned 40. And he was tested before the 2014 season. According to the Pro Football Hall of Fame website, Hasselbeck is just one of 18 quarterbacks to ever play past his 40th birthday.

I just glanced at the Pro Football Reference,* but it appears that only Warren Moon (15-18), Vinny Testaverde (10-22) and Brett Favre (17-12) have had more post-40 success than Hasselbeck.

Hilariously – or coincidentally – ESPN just ran a story titled, “Matt Hasselbeck embraces different methods to heal 40-year old body.”

*I just went by their season ages. I didn’t check whether a these guys got a QB win before or after an in-season birthday. I’m very busy.
