The Rockets beat the Lakers on Saturday night, 126-97. Kobe Bryant was a more-than-respectable 9-16 from the field and had 25 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. The most interesting stat comes from ESPN which noted that Nick Young assisted on one of Kobe’s baskets – for the first time ever. Despite the fact that they’ve been on the same team for the last three years.

I guess this could just be one of those statistical quirks. Kobe starts and Nick Young has come off the bench for all but 9 games of his Lakers’ tenure. They play the same position so it’s unlikely they’re on the floor together much. Still, Nick Young has averaged exactly 1 assist a game over his 9-year professional career. So even if they were sharing the court, it’s unlikely he was sharing the ball.

The Lakers are 3-21.
