Conor McGregor beat Jose Aldo at UFC 194 over the weekend. Their fight only lasted 13 seconds, but it was the culmination of a months-long, NSFW verbal assault by McGregor. The Irishman strung together the meanest, most impressive, unhinged and effective string of trash talk to hype a fight since Chael Sonnen reinvented himself as Anderson Silva’s nemesis more than five years ago.

McGregor made a game of stealing the championship belt and threatening his opponent in Portuguese. There was a real threat of violence whenever the two crossed paths. It was simply a great button-pushing performance. And McGregor backed it all up with one punch on Saturday night in Las Vegas. This will be a tough act to follow for McGregor.
