The Irishman strung together the meanest, most impressive, unhinged and effective string of trash talk to hype a fight since Chael Sonnen reinvented himself as Anderson Silva’s nemesis more than five years ago.

McGregor made a game of stealing the championship belt and threatening his opponent in Portuguese. There was a real threat of violence whenever the two crossed paths.
