A breakaway Ben McLemore dunk turned into a bizarre confrontation between Jason Terry and DeMarcus Cousins’ manager, Andrew Rogers. Terry, who was trailing the play, put his hands out upon reaching the baseline to avoid falling into the first row of seats. Rogers, for some reason, took a swipe at the Houston Rockets guard’s arm.

Cousins and other players then rushed over to create a huddle under the hoop. Order was eventually restored and Rogers ejected. Terry (correctly) was not penalized for his part in the incident after officials viewed replays.

"“I don’t know what happened. I didn’t hear anything or see anything. That’s all there is,” said Terry, who clearly did not want to discuss the situation. "

Rogers apparently tried to return to his seat but was turned away.

Fan-on-player contact is something the NBA will hope to avoid in the future. For now, though, everyone involved should be happy things didn’t escalate to a higher level. Things could have gotten out of control quickly.
