Eric Ebron Is Nihilistic About Getting Drafted Before Aaron Donald

Eric Ebron has been a disappointment in his almost-two seasons as with the Lions. This year he’s got 34 catches for 384 yards and four touchdowns, which is not nothing, but is less production than you’d hope for out of the 10th overall pick in the draft.

In lieu of Brandon Pettigrew missing the rest of the season with a torn ACL, the Lions’ web site covered some interesting quotes from his fellow tight end this week:

"Ebron was the center of attention in the media last Sunday with comparisons being made between him and Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald. Donald was taken three spots after Ebron, and many believe the Lions should have taken Donald instead. “I’m happy for his success,” Ebron said of Donald. “I’m happy for the scheme he’s in. I’m happy that they’re giving him an opportunity to shine. I’m not upset. You guys are upset. The media is upset. The fans are upset. I don’t care. I didn’t choose to come here. They (Lions) chose me to come here. There’s nothing I can do about it.” "

While this is an accurate sentiment about drafting bondage, schematics have little to nothing to do with Ebron’s continuing case of the drops. These quotes are unlikely to endear the tight end to Lions fans.
