Austrian skier Marcel Hirscher narrowly avoided serious injury — or worse — when a drone crashed feet behind him during a slalom race in Austria. The international ski federation has moved swiftly to ban unmanned objects at future races after the close call. The sports marketing agency that was responsible for the object is investigating what caused the incident.

Hirscher was unfazed by the drone’s fall and completed a run good fast enough for second place.
