Stephon Marbury Is So Popular in China, He Now Has His Own Museum

This is not a drill.

The man who has his own statue in China…

The man who has his own postage stamp in China…

Is now the man who has his own MUSEUM in China…

On Monday, former NBA “Star” Stephon Starbury Marbury visited a museum that was built in his honor — scheduled to open to the public next week.

From rags to riches, Marbury left the NBA for China in 2010 after a woeful stint with the New York Knicks/little-to-no opportunities to get back into the association — and in the 5+ years he’s been abroad, has been immortalized as one of the country’s biggest stars.

Per the report via ESPN:

"Marbury has led the Beijing Ducks to three of the past four Chinese Basketball Association championships, including last season, when he was named finals MVP for the first time. He averaged 29.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 2 steals over the best-of-seven series, which Beijing won 4-2."

The 38-year-old is still getting buckets: averaging 18.5 points per game so far this season for the Ducks, leading them to a 13-7 record through 20 games.

"“My Beijing jersey means more to me than any of them. I don’t [say] that because of the championship, but just because I’m here at home and I’ve had a support system,” Marbury said, via china.org.cn. “All those places that I’ve played at is a preparation for me to come to Beijing. For me, my Beijing"

I’d like to ask a question, please … what the hell is going to be in this museum other than his MVP and Championship trophies? Montages of him pulling up from 35-feet and launching contested threes in Madison Square Garden for a decade? The $1 Million he supposedly paid his mistress Thurayyah Mitchell in hush money? His receipts from the club when he spent $100 million in a decade? The foreclosure documents on all of his NYC houses/condos after he went broke?

Aw, who am I kidding to complain? STARBURY FOREVER.
