Les Miles has banned his players from going to bars in the wake of Dillon Gordon’s stabbing on Tuesday.

"“I’m cutting it off,” Miles said at Tuesday’s news conference. “It’s just not worth it. The reason you go out is because you want social interaction. Social interaction can take place at home, at class, can take place at a number of places. You don’t have to go to a fight night club.”"

In saying this, of course, Miles broke the first rule of fight night club.

At least one of Gordon’s teammates were with him early Tuesday when he sustained nonlife-threatening cuts after a fight inside the bar.

Miles said the ban is actually an old rule — one that clearly hasn’t been heavily enforced in recent years. Quarterback Jordan Jefferson (2011) and running back Jeremy Hill (2013) were each arrested after violent encounters outside of bars.

Perhaps this time it will stick.
