Metta World Peace made his first appearance in four weeks against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night. He played 25 minutes, made 2 of 10 field goals, and got into a physical confrontation with Draymond Green. There were minutes to be had with both Kobe Bryant and D’Angelo Russell sitting out. Perhaps coach Byron Scott was reminded that Ron Artest was on his roster when he saw the Pacers and Pistons scuffle over the weekend?

It doesn’t matter. The Lakers ended their 3-game winning streak. Unfortunately, it’s unlikely the 76ers can put together a similar streak so that the Lakers can catch them as the worst team in the NBA. Months of tanking all for nothing.

Then later in the game, Metta blew a wide open fastbreak layup. Metta World Peace laughed. The Warriors bench laughed. Everyone laughed. What a proud franchise.
