Jadeveon Clowney Held Out of Playoff Game, Leaves Stadium Upset [UPDATE]

Jadeveon Clowney will not play in the Houston Texans wild card game today against the Kansas City Chiefs. Clowney is suffering from a foot injury. Clowney appeared in 13 games this season and accumulated 40 tackles and 4.5 sacks. That’s a big step up from a rookie season that saw him miss 12 games. I can’t be the only one surprised that J.J. Watt didn’t rip his own foot off and let Clowney borrow it.

UPDATE: Interesting development. It sounds like Clowney wanted to play, but Bill O’Brien decided to keep him in street clothes. And a “visibly upset” Clowney left the stadium. This is going to be interesting.

UPDATE 2: Leaving is OK. Still seems a bit odd right before a playoff game.
