Mike Krzyzewski Snubbed Syracuse Players During Handshake Line

Duke fell to Syracuse, 64-62, for its third consecutive loss. The last two have come at home. Things aren’t looking great for the defending champions but at least they have coach Mike Krzyzewski’s leadership to lean on down the stretch. The all-time Division I wins leader is universally loved and immune to controversy even in 2016.

Well, that’s entirely true. Some things he does rankle the anti-Duke crowd.

For instance, that faction won’t much appreciate Coach K skipping most of the postgame handshake line after tonight’s defeat.

I’m sure there’s a reasonable explanation for the awkward blow-by. Krzyzewski looked like he had more to say to officials who declined to call a potential three-shot foul on Trevor Cooney as time expired.

The entire controversy — if one even erupts here — could have been avoided if the entire handshake charade was done away with. It’s an idea just so crazy it could work.
