Cam Newton Walked Off After Chris Harris Questioned If He Could Throw the Football

Cam Newton cut his postgame press conference short. It appears he reached his tipping point by something said by Denver cornerback Chris Harris and not by questions from the gathered media.

“Load the box, force y’all to throw the ball,” Harris said within earshot of Newton. “Can you throw the football? That was the gameplan.”

Because Harris is off-camera it’s difficult to see if he was making eye contact with Newton while speaking. Hearing stuff like this at a vulnerable moment would only add to the challenge of keeping it together.
