Dwight Howard has been in Houston for almost three years, but he’s had enough and wants out. According to Woj, Howard isn’t going to sign an extension this offseason, and the 30-year old center may be traded before the February 18th deadline.

It feels more recently than the summer of 2013 that Howard left the Lakers and nearly landed with the Warriors, but opted for the Rockets at the last minute. Despite injuries in year two, Howard the Rockets advanced to the Western Conference finals in 2015, overcoming a 3-1 series deficit against the Clippers to get there.

But this season has been a disaster, and the 27-28 Rockets are 9th in the West, fired their coach earlier this season, and are among the worst defensive teams in the league.

Who makes sense? Anyone with picks and cap space (though the cap will be going up significantly this summer). The Boston Celtics will obviously be talked about. Could the Knicks ship Carmelo Anthony to the Rockets and have Howard play alongside Porzingis? Intriguing.
