Matt Forte, who has spent his entire eight-year career in Chicago and missed a total of eight games, is done with the Bears. Forte announced the news on Instagram today. The 2nd round pick out of Tulane wasn’t very productive in 2015 – one could argue it was the worst season of his career – but he’s never had a 300-carry season and probably will be in-demand in free agency (at the right price).

The Bears found a gem in the cheap Jeremy Langford (Michigan State) and even Ka’Deem Carey (Arizona). It’ll allow them to spend on the woeful defense.

There could be plenty of very good running backs available in free agency next month:

Chris Ivory (27), Jets
Doug Martin (27), Bucs
Bilal Powell (27), Jets
Lamar Miller (24), Dolphins
Alfred Morris (27), Redskins
CJ Anderson (25), Broncos

Given how poorly DeMarco Murray worked out in Philadelphia last season, I doubt any of these backs will get big bucks.
