Adam Scott won the 2016 Honda Classic in what was a very exciting tournament thanks to the “Bear Trap.” This is Scott’s first PGA Tour victory since 2014 the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.

Scott was forced to make a putter switch this season after anchored putters were banned. Many thought it would be a problem for him since he’d been fairly successful with the long putter, but that has not been the case. Scott was pretty good with his putter at the Northern Trust Open where he finished 15th in strokes gained putting, and was good again this week at the Honda Classic where he finished 23rd in the category. Last year, Scott ranked 158th in strokes gained putting, so it seems things are falling in line for the Aussie.

Scott held off Sergio Garcia, who always seems to be so close to collecting his first win on the PGA Tour since 2012. Garcia finished second twice in 2015 and second three times in 2014 on Tour. If he continues to play like he has this season, he will definitely be someone to keep an eye on at Augusta.

Scott’s stats this week are pretty spectacular:

He also added this stat to his bag:

If this is a sign of things to come, the Masters should be VERY exciting.
