Waseca outlasted Marshall, 103-100, in a bonkers Minnesota state sectional final game that broke all the rules. Buzzer-beaters at the end of regulation, triple overtime and quadruple overtime added up to equal one crazy and unforgettable night.

Marhsall’s Trey Lance got a friendly roll on a three-pointer to knot things up, 72-72, at the end of the fourth quarter. The two teams remained deadlocked after the first and second overtime. Waseca’s Nick Dufault bombed in a 70-footer at the end of the third overtime to ratched up the craziness and set the stage for teammate Cole Streich’ game-winner from the top of the key in the next extra period.

The game already has a cool nickname in “The Three Miracles of St. Peter” which, in a way, is more important than any life-long memories a player may have created. There are few things better than a clever and weighty name for a play or game (see: The Immaculate Reception, The Fail Mary, The Catch, et al).
