Illinois guard Jaylon Tate was arrested on a charge of domestic battery early Saturday morning in Champaign, according to a report from Scout.com. The junior reserve was booked at 6:15 a.m. Illinois has yet to comment.

Tate averaged 1.9 points per game this season. He played 19 minutes in the Illini’s blowout loss to Purdue Friday in the Big Ten Tournament.

It’s the second arrest for the team in the past month. Sophomore forward Leron Black was suspended indefinitely Feb. 20 after he allegedly pulled a knife on a bouncer at a nightclub.
