Seton Hall knocked off Villanova, 69-67, to win the Big East Tournament championship. Isaiah Whitehead completed an and-one with 18.5 seconds to give the Pirates a deciding lead. Coach Kevin Willard was so excited that he collapsed to the Madison Square Garden hardwood. Either that or Gus Johnson’s loud screams knocked him over.
What a moment and what a turnaround for Seton Hall, who limped to a 16-15 finish last year.
