The Sichuan Blue Whales and Liaoning Leopards are competing in the Finals of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), and the brawl in the video above takes place outside the Leopards’ team hotel with players from that team, and fans of Sichuan’s. How did this even start?

“As the team got off the bus, a guy in a red jacket started yelling at the crowd trying to knock phones out of people’s hands,” writes Nick Bedard at Basketball Buddha (the site also originated the video compilation above). “That’s when all hell broke loose.”

SBN notes the former NBA players on the two teams:

"Hamed Haddadi, a five-year veteran with the Memphis Grizzlies, plays for Liaoning, while Lester Hudson is part of the Sichuan squad. Shavlik Randolph (Liaoning), Justin Denton and Mike Harris (Sichuan) also all played in the NBA briefly."

It will be interesting to monitor if any CBA sanctions arise out of this incident.
