Akron offensive tackle Scott Boyett shot Akron wide receiver Andrew Pratt, after mistaking him for a burglar when he entered his apartment early Saturday morning.

"About 3 a.m., Pratt entered Boyett’s apartment without knocking or announcing himself. Boyett shot Pratt because he thought he was a burglar. Someone at the house called police at 3:22 a.m. By the time officers arrived, Boyett had already taken Pratt to the emergency room at Akron Children’s Hospital."

Pratt was transferred to the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center. He is expected to recover. Both players confirmed it was an accident. No charges will be filed.
