VIDEO: Russ Smith Scored a D-League Record 65 Points

Russ Smith has appeared in 15 games for the Memphis Grizzlies this season, but he’s currently playing for the Delaware 87ers in the NBA D-League. On Wednesday, the Canton Charge beat Delaware, 140-129, despite a D-League record 65 points from Smith.

As you’ll see from the video above, most of Smith’s damage was done in the paint. The Louisville product finished the game making 24 of 42 field goal attempts and 16 of 20 free throw attempts. He was just 1 of 5 from 3-point range. He also found time for 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the shootout. Smith is now 2nd in the D-League in scoring with 27.9 points per game.
