We’ve been chronicling the Warriors quest for an NBA-record 73 wins all season, and for the last few months, they’ve been favored to do so. A loss to the Spurs Saturday didn’t deter them. With a win (and series sweep) over the Clippers Wednesday, the Warriors simply need to go 9-2 with these games to reach 73 wins:

vs Dallas
vs Philadelphia
vs Washington
at Utah (back-to-back)
vs Boston (nationally-televised)
vs Portland
vs Minnesota
vs San Antonio
at Memphis
at San Antonio (back-to-back)
vs Memphis

The first thing that jumps out: eight of the 11 games are at home. The Warriors haven’t lost at home since the Reagan administration.

There are two games against the Spurs remaining, but it’s safe to say Gregg Popovich got the win he needed over the Warriors, so the guess here is he rests players in at least one of those two games.

One potentially dangerous thing: The Jazz and Wizards are a game under .500, but both are fighting for their playoff lives. That Utah game, on a back-to-back, could be trouble. Ask the Cavs, who just went in there and lost even though Utah was without Gordon Hayward.

If the Warriors lose to the Jazz, and are 67-8 with seven games left, circle that game at Memphis after Golden State beats San Antonio. The Warriors beat the Grizzlies by 50 and 16 earlier this season.

Steve Kerr is all for chasing 73.
