Reggie Jackson struggled from the floor against his former team, but he finished the Pistons’ win over the Thunder on Tuesday night with a big dunk. He then celebrated as the Pistons locked up the game. His joy was enough to upset Steven Adams who spent some time trying to get in Jackson’s face. And the Oklahoma feed showed Nick Collinson appear to say something on the bench that rhymed with “itch.”

Why was Jackson so happy? Ignoring the fact that Jackson used to play for OKC, this was a huge win for the Pistons. The win kept them in the 7th seed and a half-game up over the Pacers. Meanwhile, the Bulls and Wizards are still alive just 2.5 and 3.5 games out of the 7-seed respectively. There are two weeks left in the season and this was an important win in front of their fans at home over a fringe title contender. That certainly seems like something worth celebrating.

However, according to Russell Westbrook, this is apparently “bullshit.”

Question: Is there anyone in the NBA who celebrates more than Russell Westbrook? When was the last time he hit a 3-pointer in the middle of a game and it wasn’t accompanied by an elaborate routine? Westbrook is so out of line here that he’s got me nodding my head in total agreement with Shaquille O'Neal.

He’s right! Shaq is 100% right.

Look, Westbrook often has legitimate cause to celebrate. He’s an awesome basketball player who does incredible things on the court that are often worthy of getting excited about. The Thunder win a lot more often than they lose. The one time somebody gets a win and gets to celebrate, Westbrook takes offense? Get the [expletive deleted] out of here. The Thunder are 5-games ahead of the Clippers for the 3-seed and have no shot of catching the Spurs for the 2-seed. This game was completely meaningless for OKC except for the fact that they were playing against a former teammate who left under less than cordial terms. Stop whining.
