The Philadelphia Flyers announced Thursday that they have recalled 5-11, 180-pound RW Harry Zolnierczyk and 6-1, 195-pound D Brandon Manning from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.

UPDATE: Apparently, this trade took place on March 9, 2012. Somebody must have re-published this for April Fools Day. So hilarious.

This will be Brandon Manning’s first stint in the NHL. Surprisingly, Zolnierczyk doesn’t seem to garner the same amount of interest as Manning. What? Oh, you thought I was talking about free agent Peyton Manning and Browns’ President Mike Holmgren? I guess that’s an understandable mistake, but why would Peyton sign with the Eagles? They already have Michael Vick. I suppose he could take Vince Young’s spot as the backup, but Jeremy Maclin already has his jersey number. Peyton Manning is definitely going to want to go somewhere he can start and wear his number. Philadelphia makes no sense. [NJ.com, Getty]
