It’s an even year, which we all know means the San Francisco Giants are destined to win the World Series. Again. With Bruce Bochy at the helm. The guy who used to manage my hometown San Diego Padr–OK, I’m just going to stop there before I start sobbing uncontrollably.

The Giants opened their season on Monday against the Milwaukee Brewers and made a statement by blowing out Bernie’s boys 12-3. The game featured four San Francisco home runs, three of which came in the eighth inning in back-to-back-to-back fashion, all off reliever Ariel Peña. Denard Span, Joe Panik and Buster Posey all took Peña deep in a stretch of just five pitches. Yikes.

It was not the best day for Mr. Peña, who went 1.2 innings and gave up five runs. His 27.00 ERA will be difficult to squash any time soon.
