DeMarcus Cousinswas given a technical foul when he shoved Gerald Henderson during last night’s Kings – Blazers game. The technical was his 17th of the season, which tied his career-high for most in a season. He now has 90 in his 6-year career which sounds like a lot, but let’s talk about Rasheed Wallace for a minute…

Wallace had 317 technical fouls in 16 seasons. He had 142 through his first 6 seasons. (Steve Francis had 111 of his 127 career techs in his first 6 seasons.) Wallace had a three-year stretch between 1999 and 2002 where he was whistled for 106 T’s. Unfortunately, with the NBA’s mandatory 1-game suspensions for every two technical fouls (starting with the 16th) in a season, it will be near impossible for Cousins to ever touch Sheed’s record of 41 technical fouls in the ’99-’00 season.

And while we’re talking T’s… 20-seconds later, the Kings bench was called for a technical foul for interference when an inbounds pass hit Quincy Acy’s hand as he pointed across the court. The Kings went on to lose, 115-107.
