Rachel Banham recently finished her career at Minnesota with a B1G record 3,903 points and a bunch of other awards, records and honors. She’s projected to be a top-5 pick in next week’s WNBA Draft. Still, for now she’s kind of just a girl going to college in Minnesota who loves basketball. So the idea that she would find herself talking to one of the greatest basketball players of all-time right before an NBA game is understandably freak-out-worthy.

Banham and Bryant met at opposite ends of their careers. Bryant a few days from ending his career. Banham a few days from starting hers. It’s kind of poetic. Even if he was tweeting about Banham after one of her game-winners. That’s just the Internet. This is real life.
