Addison Russell Almost Hit Diamondbacks Mascot with Thrown Bat, Things Got Tense

Arizona Diamondbacks mascot Baxter became irate when Addison Russell’s thrown bat landed a few seats away from him during Thursday night’s game. You’d be mad too if you had to walk around in the desert heat while wearing a furry costume. Baxter picked up the bat and taunted the Cubs shortstop before gifting it to a young fan. It was the best and worst of mascot behavior in a short span.

Russell got the last laugh as the Cubs scored 10 unanswered runs to defeat Arizona, 14-6.
