Arrieta’s no-no’s came in the span of 11 starts, the fewest in Major League Baseball history outside of Warren Spahn (5) and Johnny Vander Meer (back to back). The righty scattered four walks and struck out six Reds batters in a 16-0 blowout.

It was an exciting night for Arrieta and his teammates — catcher David Ross especially. The veteran called his first no-hitter in this, his final season.

But no one was more excited than this Cubs fan who sprinted out onto the field after Jason Heyward secured the final out to join the celebration.

The Bro, who looks like every other dude who lives between Diversey and Addison, was able to tap Arrieta on the cap before being pulled away by police.

Was it worth it? We won’t know until we find out the legal ramifications.

All things considered, he’s lucky one of the Cubs didn’t get physical with him in the interest of protecting the team’s most valuable arm. It’s almost as if people who run onto playing fields don’t consider all the consequences.
