Dan Le Batard ruffled some Internet feathers yesterday when he talked about Skip Bayless departure from ESPN and the broader idea of what happens – or doesn’t happen – to talent that leaves ESPN. (We covered it here.) Today, Le Batard responded to the response to his response to the original news.

Le Batard admitted that the people complaining had points – even if he had kind of made them himself. He then compared ESPN to the UFC and again tried to explain why losing Cowherd, Simmons, Bayless, and Tirico isn’t really that big a deal.

"‘They’ll just factory make the next Tirico. And so many of you are pointing out, “No! If PTI left I’d find it wherever it is that PTI is.” OK? And it wouldn’t matter. And ESPN would continue going along.’"

He is completely right. The machine will continue to roll – even if it is a less expensive version of the machine. Still, don’t you think this is kind of a shot at all those guys he just mentioned? Le Batard better put some respek on those names.
