Chelsea and Tottenham played an intense match on Monday afternoon, as the two teams battled to a 2-2 draw. While the big story of the match was the result eliminating Tottenham and giving Leicester City its first top-flight title in the club’s 132-year history, the match itself was chippy the entire way through. Then towards the end, it got downright ugly.

After the final whistle the two sides engaged in soccer’s version of a brawl, with both sides engaged in a lot of pushing, shoving and grabbing. In the middle of the melee were Chelsea’s Diego Costa and Tottenham reserve keeper Michel Vorm.

To be fair, it appears most of the players were genuinely trying to break up the fight, but still it was a bad look for everyone involved.

This was just a continuation of the ugliness on the pitch during the match. Tottenham was given an insane nine yellow cards on its own, while Chelsea was given three. And, quite frankly, at least three of Tottenham’s late-game challenges could have been straight red cards. Several Chelsea players were lucky to escape without serious injury.
