Well, we’re past the first two big hurdles during the PGA Tour season and the third is quickly approaching, but first there are a few more classic tournaments that have to be played.

The AT&T Byron Nelson at TPC Four Seasons, in Irving, Texas starts on Thursday this week and it features a couple of big names. Jordan Spieth, who will be playing with Jason Dufner and Jimmy Walker, will be looking to get his season back on track after a disappointing stretch prior to the Masters, the Masters, and missing the cut at the Players. Spieth’s best finish in the event came in 2010 when he finished tied for 16th, since then he hasn’t managed to finish higher than a tie for 30th.

Spieth will have to contend with Dustin Johnson, who’s last eight rounds at the TPC Four Seasons were: 69-62-68-67-66-68-69-69 and he finished T8 and T7. He will be a formidable opponent this week.

Defending champion Steven Bowditch, however, who finished 18-under and won the event last year, is coming off of five straight missed cuts. His odds at winning? 350/1 according to Sportsbook.ag. I’m not sure, but that’s got to be some kind of record for the worst odds for a defending champion.

My Pick

Dustin Johnson has been playing well this season and has carded four top five finishes in his last six events. He’s bound to break through at some point and with the low numbers he’s averaged at TPC Four Seasons, he seems like a worthy pick.
