Miguel Cabrera is in the midst of a hot stretch. He’s blasted five home runs in five games and has raised his batting average to .321. The torrid hitting has coincided with the Detroit Tigers winning eight of nine games, meaning he has plenty of reason to smile–even after striking out.

Game respect game.

Cabrera has been acknowledging pitchers who get the best of him for years with head nods. It appears he’s now willing to make grander gestures. Perhaps next he’ll walk out and shake their hands on the mound. Or dramatically bow.

Just another reason his at-bats are must-see television.
