Russell Westbrook Laughed at Stephen Curry, and Then Got Clowned by the MVP Two Games in a Row

How long will it take Russell Westbrook to shake off the moment he had after Game 5 when he laughed at Stephen Curry? An insane dunk’s not going to do it, nor will leading the league in triple doubles. His pre game dance routines and wacky outfits are already tired.

Westbrook’s only 27, and he’s still got many great years ahead of him. But to laugh at the 2-time MVP, the defending champion, moments after he had a game with five steals in which his team won? The Thunder never won another game in the series.

Curry’s numbers in Games 5-7

G7: 36 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds
G6: 31 points, 9 assists, 10 rebounds
G5: 31 points, 6 assists, 7 rebounds [When Westbrook Laughed]

Again: Westbrook is probably the most athletic point guard in NBA history. He had a very good series against the Warriors.

But until he gets to the Finals again – he gave the Heat 43 in one memorable NBA Finals loss in 2012 – I’m not sure he’s going to live down laughing at Curry and then going out and losing three straight in a historic defeat.

Oh, and Kevin Durant, make sure to check this out before making that free agent decision to stay:
