VIDEO: Melvin Upton Broke a Bat Over His Knee

The San Diego Padres beat the Seattle Mariners, 14-6, on Wednesday. Seemingly all of the Padres got in on the act, except for Melvin Upton who went 0-for-5 and struck out three times. When your team scores 14 and all you can manage is reaching once on a fielder’s choice, it’s got to be frustrating.

That’s why you break your bat over your knee like a total badass on the field where all your bats can see. You’ve got to show your bats there are consequences for their actions. The next bat will know better than not make contact with a baseball.
