Good Morning America's NBA Finals Coverage is Focused on the 'Tea Lizard' Meme

It’s been less than 36 hours since the Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA title. The conversation has already turned from LeBron James’ legacy to a meme’s legacy — and gotten far more confusing in the process.

Good Morning America sent out this head-scratching tweet this morning.

There’s a lot going on here, most namely #tealizard to describe Kermit the Frog. Setting aside the zoological embarrassment of this hashtag, Disney owns The Muppets. What’s the point of having Muppets rights if you can’t say “Kermit” without fear of legal action?

Also, #smocking? I spend way too much time on the internet and I have literally never seen any #smocking content. To be honest, I didn’t see any #CryingLeBron memes yesterday either.

In short, this tweet is weird. Perhaps too weird.
