Jordan Rodgers on Relationship with Aaron: "It's Complicated"

Former Vanderbilt quarterback Jordan Rodgers is among the final six contestants still remaining on this season of The Bachelorette. He has been the frontrunner since Day 1, much to the dismay of singer-songwriter James Taylor, who was so distraught with Rodgers’ “entitlement” that he took the issue to JoJo Fletcher during one-on-one time during a group date.

But you knew that because you are a devoted watcher of the show.

The topic of Aaron Rodgers has received surprisingly sparse attention to this point. That said, it’s the elephant in the room, lurking just beneath the surface at all times.

Rodgers is apparently now free, contractually, to do press and appeared on Katie Nolan’s Garbage Time podcast. Nolan asked the aspiring Cassanova if he and his brother are close.

“We have a relationship,” Rodgers said. “It’s complicated. I’ll say that.”

This is not something a person usually says while enjoying a positive relationship. The revelation that the two brothers don’t call each other every night to chat isn’t surprising.

Nolan then asked if the younger Rodgers is a Green Bay Packers fan, a smart follow-up that yielded a telling response.

“Yeah,” Rodgers said. “One of my best friends in the world, David Bakhtiari, is his left tackle. I lived with David before the draft.”

Again, telling.

Rodgers said he believes his brother watches the show but hasn’t reached out with kissing advice.

Barring some unforeseen development, Rodgers will be among those to receive a hometown date. Those usually include the contestant’s family. The possibility to get both an NFL superstar and Olivia Munn on camera was obviously part of the calculus ABC used in casting.

Information pertaining to the celebrity couple’s involvement — or lack of involvement — in such a date is readily available on the internet. We’ll keep this a spoiler-free zone but say, as of now, the tea leaves seem to be pointing toward a few empty chairs at the Rodgers dinner table.

Then again, anything is possible. Look no further than Jordan somehow pulling off that haircut for proof.
