The NBA announced that O.J. Mayo has been “dismissed and disqualified” from the league. Mayo would be eligible to apply for reinstatement in two years.

Mayo was suspended 10 games for violating the league’s drug policy in 2011, which he blamed on an over the counter supplement.

Per the NBA’s anti-drug program, it would take a fourth suspension to be “dismissed and disqualified” from the league for PEDs. Testing positive for a “drug of abuse” warrants immediate dismissal disqualification. Those drugs include amphetamines, LSD, cocaine, opiates, and PCP. The NBA does not classify marijuana as a “drug of abuse.”
