Randy Gregory has checked in to a treatment facility after violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy for a second time. Gregory was already suspended for the first four games of this season and is now facing an even longer ban.

Gregory was a massive character risk when the Dallas Cowboys took him in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. As a rookie, the Nebraska product struggled with an ankle injury and made just 11 tackles in 12 games. The pass rushing specialist didn’t record a sack, but did have 16 quarterback pressures, which was fourth on the team. Talent has never been an issue for the 23-year-old.

Gregory tested positive for marijuana at the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine after being projected as a first-round pick. His first suspension was announced in February.

At least Gregory has checked into treatment. Here’s hoping he gets himself right and can get back on the field. The guy is immensely talented, but has just never behaved off the field.
