Craig Sager won’t be going to Rio to cover the 2016 Summer Olympics. On Thursday, NBC announced the 65-year-old will undergo more treatment to continue his fight against leukemia.

The statement read as follows:

"Craig Sager has returned to MD Anderson to continue his fight against leukemia. He is preparing for a third bone marrow transplant which will prevent him from covering the Olympics in Rio. We wish him the best in his continued recovery."

Sager is an endearing personality who has made the sport of basketball better by his presence. Universally beloved, he just makes games more fun to watch. While obviously our first thoughts are with him in his fight against leukemia, it’s also hard not to think about how much his presence will be missed during games. He’s such a fun, bright guy and seeing him work just makes viewers feel better.

Here’s hoping Sager kicks the crap out of leukemia this summer and that he can get back to doing what he does best on the sidelines as soon as possible.
