Corrections and Clarifications: Max Kellerman replaced Skip Bayless permanently on ESPN’s First Take.

Max Kellerman replaced Skip Bayless on First Take. He has come out firing, claiming “Tom Brady is going to be a bum in short order.” Stephen A. Smith theatrically disagreed with him.

Kellerman expects a precipitous Brady performance decline, either this year or next year. That’s not exactly a bold prediction. Brady will be 39 entering this season. Even the greatest athletes have a shelf life.

Brady, for his part, has intimated he plans to play into his 40s. He has a personal body coach and a $200 wood-bound nutritional manual to keep him young and eager. Brady led the NFL in touchdown passes and interception percentage last year. He hasn’t suffered a traumatic lingering injury, as Manning did with his neck.

We suspect Brady will have Kellerman’s comment on a post-it note affixed to his ancient laptop in the chill zone.
